China's coffee imports from Ethiopia grow by 196%

Addis Ababa: January 23, 2022 (MOTI) - China's coffee imports from Ethiopia have increased by 196 percent.

A seminar attended by Ethiopian Ambassador to China Teshome Toga was held yesterday.

The seminar was aimed at monitoring the implementation of the decisions of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum held last fiscal year.

According to Wu Peng, Director General of African Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 11,000 Ethiopian coffee packages were sold in five seconds.

He said China imports coffee from Ethiopia to grow by 196 percent in the current fiscal year 2021.
